Where can I find a LARGE pet memorial marker?

By Rick, August 14, 2010 3:30 am

My horse passed away a couple of months ago. I want to have a marker made for his grave. I have designed what I want, but I can’t find anyone to make it. I am looking for something about 18″ x 24″. I even have the stone to make it out of if I can find someone that can sandblast and stain it in my area (south of Ft. Worth, TX). Otherwise, I would like to find someone that can do it and ship it to me. I have looked at many, many memorial marker sites, but nothing is that large unless is a headstone made to mark a human’s burial plot. They are all more than I’m wanting to spend. I would like to find something like this for less than $200. Any thoughts?

Pet Memorial Products Help Owners Deal With Loss

By Rick, July 15, 2010 3:22 am

The loss of a family pet is a source of grief and sadness. For many of us, pets are very much a part of the family. Over the years, our pets become our loyal friends, companions, guardians and even confidants. Even though the lifespan of a pet does vary on the species, they are with us long enough to establish bonds that are hard to break.

Those of us who feel a spiritual connection with our pets believe that the day will come when we all reunited at the fabled Rainbow Bridge. Even for people who do not share spiritual bond with their pet, the loss can be no less devastating. As with any death, different people deal with the loss in different ways. Grief comes in many forms from a fond memory to more debilitating emotional responses.

Many of us look for ways to memorialize the loss of our friend in some appropriate way. Picture albums and other memorabilia allow us to go back in time, reminding us of happier times. Owners may keep a collection of favorite toys and other reminders of the pets daily life. This is not unlike the process many of us go through when we lose a beloved human.

A growing trend in pet memorials is to create a long lasting symbol of our late pet. This can take the form of statuary, headstones and others types of monuments to honor our lost companion. The strong connection between pets and humans is undeniable, leading many of us to follow rituals that are quite similar, if not exactly like those followed for deceased humans.

Just like cemeteries for humans, pet cemeteries cater to the bereaved, often with the same compassion and level of service. Pet cemeteries offer a menu of services, from simple burials to cremations. Pet owners can select from caskets, urns and burial services. It is not uncommon that the deceased pet will be buried at home, using a casket purchased for that purpose. Larger pet cemeteries may feature a mausoleum for those people who prefer above ground interment.

Cremation is a common option with some owners choosing to inter the urn at a traditional pet cemetery or take the ashes home. The mobile nature of our modern society can make interment in a cemetery or backyard impractical. Cremation could be an appropriate option for those pet owners since the ashes are portable.

Cremation offers another interesting, though expensive way to memorialize your pet. A popular option among people of means is to have a portion of the ashes turned into a gem quality keepsake. Certified as diamonds, the cost of this process is beyond the means of most folks. The same process is used to turn human remains into unique and valuable keepsakes.

More and more pet owners are choosing to create memory boxes and baskets, designed to hold memorabilia of their pet. The baskets can hold identification tags, toys, and other artifacts of the animals life among humans.

Other popular ways to honor our past pets can include garden stones and other types of enduring memorials. Again, for those people of means, there is no end to the ways that pets can be remembered. Though not one of my first choices, some people will turn to freeze drying their beloved pet. In essence, the process will keep the pet around for many years.

So whether you plan to meet your deceased pets at Rainbow Bridge or just want to memorialize your companion, there are resources available that till help you cope with the loss of a friend and keep their memory alive.

Does anyone know the site where you make a brick for a virtual building for a celebrity or pet memorial, etc?

By Rick, June 30, 2010 3:22 am

I used to go to a site that has virtual buildings. You can start your own building or add to an existing one. They have them for celebrities – we made one for Bo Bice. They have them where you can add your pets who have died to a memorial building. It’s a really neat place. When my computer died I lost the address. Can’t find it no matter how I have searched. Any help would be great. Thanks!

Remember Your Pet With an Engraved Pet Memorial

By Rick, May 15, 2010 2:46 am

Pets, just like people are an integral part of many families and are loved just as much as a sister, brother, mother or father.  Unfortunately, pets have a much shorter life span than us so we have to deal with the loss of a pet much more often than the loss of loved ones.  This can be very hard and obviously very emotional on everyone in the family, especially when there are young children involved that thought their pet would be their best friend forever.

Families often struggle with what to do when you lose a pet.  Do you bring it somewhere and have them take care of it?  Do you get your dog or cat cremated and put its ashes in a jar or spread them on your lawn?

Do you bury your pet by a tree in your yard to have a special place to remember him?  Whether you choose any of these options you can have a beautiful pet memorial rock created that you can put indoors or out for everyone to remember your special friend.  These engraved pet stones will remind everyone what a good pet you had and create conversation and great memories.

Engraved stones make great pet memorials because they can be completely customized and come in any size.  Create the pet memorial as a family, choose an image of your pet from a large selection of stock animal images, or provide a custom image, put your pets name on the stone and the date or a special name you called her, or even a quote that is special to your family.  A pet memorial will not only last forever, but it will be something special your family and children can remember their special friend by.  Depending on the number or letters or picture, you can get an engraved stone to use as a pet memorial or pet marker anywhere from 5” across up to 14”.

Order an engraved pet memorial today from Serenityhealth.com.  You will be amazed at the impeccable engraving and choices.  You will also find many phrases from past pet markers that will get your ideas flowing.
